The House of Representatives is the People’s House.

It is the most direct route to power our Constitutional republic offers the citizenry.

The House is supposed to serve as a check on the Executive Branch, irrespective of the President’s political party.

For decades now our Speakers have failed to perform that most basic function we all learned in civics class – namely to rein in the executive.

It is past time the Speaker began to do the job the office is charged with.

It is time We the People had a Speaker – The People’s Speaker.

Many Americans may not know the U.S. Constitution doesn’t require the Speaker of the House to be an elected member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

But it’s true. It’s right there in Article 1 Section 2, Clause 5 of the Constitution.

The Founders gave the people this ability for the very purpose of holding the insiders accountable.

For too long the Speaker has come from the Good Old Boys fraternity of the House of Representatives.

It’s time the House had some help from the outside. Most Americans can agree – Paul Ryan needs a pair of fresh eyes on the process.

So I’ve decided to run for the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

The media and the pundits and the insiders will say it isn’t possible, but they also told us we couldn’t stop Paul Ryan’s and the president’s job-killing ObamaTrade.

D.C., the media and the chattering class clearly aren’t listening to middle class America.

It’s time the people had a voice in Congress. I hope you’ll join my effort to raise your voice in the halls of Congress.
